The Opportunity: Undertake professional and comprehensive casework for complex caseload of children and young people. Work with family trauma and parenting difficulties to improve the Departments ability to manage complex family cases. Develop services to children in need and their families and maintain the register of children with disabilities. Maintain high professional standards and good overall knowledge of relevant legislation, regulation and practice methods, and provide guidance and support to less experienced staff to help them develop their professional skill and knowledge. As lead professional, to contribute to the provision of good quality services which integrate government and local initiatives and guidance (including Working Together, Safeguarding Procedures, Looked After Children’s processes, the Single Assessment and Common Assessment Framework). Use the Signs of Safety Framework to implement strengths – based child protection assessments/planning.

Essential criteria to include a degree in Social Work approved by one of the following regulators and hold current registration with either Social Work England, Social Care Wales, Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC), Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or if qualifying after 2013, to have completed and passed the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment. The postholder should also have at least five years relevant post qualifying experience of working in the UK (experience in a British Overseas Territory working under a UK model may be considered). A Post Graduate Diploma or PQ Specialist aware or have appropriate equivalent experience, (RQF 7 or NVQ 5 Equivalent)

Contract Type: This is a fixed term post for 2-4 years on standard FIG terms and conditions

THE ROLE

The Assistant Technical Programme Lead is responsible for supporting the Technical Programme Lead to manage and deliver the tactical and operational requirements of the Department of Mineral Resources across multiple offshore petroleum developments. This includes active management, planning, co-ordination and execution of technically complex projects and work packages to ensure alignment against wider delivery programmes.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Demonstrable experience (7+ years) in a project/programme delivery role which involves delivery of major projects or programmes. Experience of offshore petroleum projects would be advantageous.
Demonstrable experience in the successful application of project and programme principles, governance and methodologies with an emphasis on delivering within programme, budget and scope.
The ability to work successfully in a complex political and stakeholder environment and report/ engage at all levels.
Effective communication skills, both oral and written, including the ability to deliver effective presentations, write meaningful reports and engage proactively and constructively with diverse audiences, and to communicate confidently with all levels of stakeholders.
A good knowledge and skills with MS Office including MS Project.
A degree and a project or programme management qualification.
A valid driving licence.

The Role

The Falkland Islands Government Air Service provides an essential inter-island passenger and freight service as well as aerial surveillance of the fishery conservation zone around the islands.

A Licensed Aircraft engineer is required to join the small maintenance team responsible for the continuous maintenance of the fleet of BN Islander aircraft. This involves routine and remedial maintenance, repairs and rectification of the aircraft and its associated systems.

The Person

Applicants must hold an UK/EASA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence with preferably at least 4 years’ experience, Type Rated on BN2B Islander aircraft, and Lycoming 0-540 Engines. Full details of the essential and desirable requirements for the post are outlined in the Job Description.

The Role

You will support the Head of the Planning and Building Services in the review of the development plan (and ongoing legislative and procedural improvements), and develop the work of the Historic Buildings Committee.

The Person

A Chartered Town Planner. Ideally you will have a wide range of development management experience covering all aspects of development management functions. You must have experience in preparing committee reports and presenting to committees. You will assist in providing a high quality, customer-focused planning service delivering timely and quality recommendations to the Head of Service and/or the Planning Committee.

With good communication and interpersonal skills, you will be well-organised, proactive and have a flexible approach.

Core Requirements

Applicants must provide their Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) membership number within their supporting statement. Only active RTPI members are eligible to apply. Applications submitted without a valid RTPI membership number will not be progressed, as RTPI membership is an essential requirement for this role.

At least three years post-qualification experience in UK Planning / Development Management setting.
Degree in Planning and Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI).
Good verbal and written communication skills, able to produce reports for senior management.
Experience of working collaboratively with service users and dealing with members of the public.
Solid project management experience and able to manage conflicting priorities.
Valid driving license.

The Opportunity: To provide support, guidance and expert regulatory advice, to the Director, and the Project Director with regards to all aspects of Health & Safety requirements. The role includes working closely with colleagues to deliver appropriate drafting instructions, ready for the legal team to complete offshore safety proposals which may include research to identify best practices in other jurisdictions and analysing policy alternatives to recommend fit-for-Falklands solutions that are aligned with developing best practice in the oil and gas industry worldwide. Assist with the development and maintenance of guidance documents and related materials to support and strengthen the policy to legislation process.

The Role: Complete the development of offshore safety policy proposals working closely with colleagues to deliver appropriate drafting instructions, ready for the legal team. This includes conducting primary and secondary research as required, identifying best practices in other jurisdictions and analyzing policy alternatives to recommend fit-for-Falklands solutions that are aligned with developing best practice in the oil and gas industry worldwide.

Plan and conduct research and analysis in support of the policy development, which could include complex or novel legal issues/questions.

Facilitate consultation with appropriate stakeholders with regard to proposals for this legislation and the amendment and/or repeal of existing legislation.

Work closely with the Directorate of Legal Services when providing advice and guidance related to the Health & Safety policy direction.

Prepare high quality written materials for internal and external audiences including “white paper” policy proposals, “green paper” consultation papers, Executive Council papers and reports as necessary.

Engage with politicians, FIG departments and subject matter experts (which may include external experts contracted by the Directorate) throughout the process of policy development, project design and implementation.

Assist with the development and maintenance of guidance documents and related materials to support and strengthen the policy to legislation process.

Manage external specialists and contractors as required.

Provide policy advice on oil readiness safety matters to the Director of Mineral Resources, other FIG Directors, and Executive Council. As part of this process, develop appropriate consultation frameworks on proposed policy initiatives with the oil and gas industry and wider stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have:

A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area which might include public policy, law or health & safety
Masters or post-graduate diploma (or equivalent) in any discipline containing significant content relevant to the offshore hydrocarbons industry
Current valid driving licence
Minimum 5 years relevant experience of public sector policy experience, ideally in off-shore HSE

THE ROLE

Working in what can only be described as a unique and breath-taking environment, the Health and Safety Advisor will be responsible for providing expert health and safety advice and support to Directors, Heads of Service, Managers and Employees across the Falkland Islands Government (FIG).

This will involve working closely with relevant officers to develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures, undertaking risk assessments and inspections of workplaces, equipment and activities, and investigating accidents and incidents.

The postholder will work proactively to identify and mitigate workplace risks, foster a positive safety culture, deliver training and awareness programs, and support continuous improvement in health and

safety performance.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:

Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience of operating in a lead Health and Safety role in an organisation with comparable complexity
Have first-class knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, current issues and how this interacts with policy and practice
Have experience of working with complex practices and compliance standards and implementing change
Have pragmatic and flexible approach to different ways of working, and be receptive to new ideas
Have strong interpersonal and influencing skills, including the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the role of other teams and the value of their contribution
Hold a NEBOSH diploma or equivalent with Grad IOSH status (Level 5 Qualification)

The Role

The role involves assessing, diagnosing, and treating children across a range of speech and language communication difficulties including acquired and developmental disorders. The Person

An experienced and enthusiastic qualified speech and language therapist with:

Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council or equivalent professional registration body in a comparable country
Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists or equivalent professional body in a comparable country
Five years or more post-registration experience as a speech and language therapist in Great Britain or a comparable country
Three years or more experience of working with a paediatric caseload
